The King Mustangs basketball team scored 37 points and held the host Santa Gertrudis Academy Lions to 30 in the Mustangs non-league triumph on Thursday.

The Mustangs now sport a 4-12 record. They put it on the line next when they host Ray for a 5A Region IV District 29 contest on Saturday, December 30. King will meet a Texans team coming off a 70-12 non-league loss to West Oso (Corpus Christi, TX). The Texans record now stands at 0-12.

The Lions (7-11) will now prepare for their contest against Port Aransas (Port Aransas, TX). The Marlins enter the non-league contest with a 5-4 record. In their last contest, Port Aransas nudged Yorktown (Yorktown, TX), 32-24, in a league contest.
