The Van Buren Pointers (Van Buren, AR) basketball knocked off the visiting Sylvan Hills Bears (Sherwood, AR), 58-40 in Thursday's non-league test.
The Pointers (8-2) will now prepare for their test against Greenbrier (Greenbrier, AR). The Panthers go into the 5A West test with a 5-8 record.
The Bears now own a 1-6 record. They play next when they host Jacksonville for a 5A Central test on Tuesday, January 2. Sylvan Hills will encounter a Titans squad coming off a 65-28 league win over ESTEM (Little Rock, AR). The Titans record now stands at 1-6.
