Texas High School Basketball - Americas bested by Franklin

December 28, 2024: El Paso, TX 79936

Franklin Cougars (El Paso, TX) supporters left the game happy Saturday as they witnessed their basketball squad run past the host Americas Trail Blazers (El Paso, TX), 56-45 in a non-league match.

With the victory, Franklin advances its record to 12-9 on the year. The Cougars travel to Eastlake (El Paso, TX) to meet the Falcons in a 6A Region I District 1 match on Friday, January 3. The Falcons enter the match with a record of 14-5. Eastlake won 33-28 in their recent non-league match against Midland (Midland, TX)

The Trail Blazers now own a 10-10 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Horizon for a 5A Region I District 2 match on Friday, January 3. Americas will meet a Scorpions squad coming off a 63-30 league loss to El Dorado (El Paso, TX). The Scorpions record now stands at 5-13.
