In Saturday's non-league contest, the visiting Fitzgerald Spartans basketball team scored a big 48-26 win over the Avondale Yellowjackets.

The Spartans (6-1) will now prepare for their contest against Mott (Waterford, MI). The Corsairs come into the non-league contest with a 8-0 record. In their last contest, Mott smashed Portage Central (Portage, MI), 68-50, in a non-league contest.

In their next game, the Yellowjackets battle the King Crusaders (Detroit, MI) in a non-league contest, on Monday, December 30. Avondale will attempt to better on its 5-4 season record. The Crusaders come into the contest with a 5-2 record after their 55-52 non-league win over Saginaw United (Saginaw, MI).
