The crowd at Saturday's non-league challenge between the De Smet Jesuit Spartans (St. Louis, MO) and the host Lafayette Lancers (Wildwood, MO), observed De Smet Jesuit's basketball team overwhelm Lafayette by a score of 66-40.

The Spartans (8-1) will now prepare for their challenge against Vianney (Kirkwood, MO). The Golden Griffins come into the Metro Catholic challenge with a 4-2 record. In their last challenge, Vianney was routed by Chaminade (St. Louis, MO), 77-63, in a league challenge.

In their next game, the Lancers encounter the Eureka Wildcats (Eureka, MO) in a non-league challenge, on Sunday, December 29. Lafayette will attempt to improve on its 3-4 season record. The Wildcats come into the challenge with a 4-1 record after their 52-38 non-league win over Parkway North (St. Louis, MO).
