The crowd at Saturday's non-league challenge between the William Monroe Dragons (Stanardsville, VA) and the host Fluvanna County Flying Flucos (Palmyra, VA), observed William Monroe's basketball team knock off Fluvanna County by a score of 43-34.

The Dragons (8-1) will now prepare for their challenge against Broadway (Broadway, VA). The Gobblers come into the Valley challenge with a 2-8 record. In their last challenge, Broadway was knocked off by Cave Spring (Roanoke, VA), 70-52, in a non-league challenge.

In their next game, the Flying Flucos encounter the Liberty Christian Bulldogs (Lynchburg, VA) in a non-league challenge, on Thursday, January 2. Fluvanna County will attempt to improve on its 2-7 season record. The Bulldogs come into the challenge with a 7-2 record after their 58-43 non-league loss to Alleghany (Covington, VA).
