In Saturday's non-league test, the PikeView Panthers (Princeton, WV) basketball squad knocked off the visiting Giles Spartans (Pearisburg, VA), by a score of 61-44.
Next, the Panthers encounter the Summers County Bobcats (Hinton, WV) in a Coalfield AA test, on Tuesday, January 7. PikeView will attempt to improve on its 3-3 season record.
The Spartans (3-5) will now prepare for their test against Galax (Galax, VA). The Maroon Tide come into the Mountain Empire test with a 0-5 record. In their last test, Galax went down by Alleghany (Sparta, NC), 52-44, in a non-league test.
