Georgia High School Basketball - Monroe knocks off Long County

December 28, 2024: Albany, GA 31701

In Saturday's non-league contest, the host Monroe Golden Tornadoes basketball team scored a good 74-59 win over the Long County Blue Tide.

The Golden Tornadoes (5-6) will now prepare for their contest against Dougherty (Albany, GA). The Trojans come into the AAA Region 1 contest with a 8-6 record. In their last contest, Dougherty defeated Mary Persons (Forsyth, GA), 49-45, in a non-league battle.

The Blue Tide now own a 6-8 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Groves for a AAA Region 3 battle on Tuesday, January 7. Long County will meet a Rebels squad coming off a 63-41 non-league loss to Pickens (Jasper, GA). The Rebels record now stands at 2-9.
