In Saturday's non-league contest, the visiting Monroe Area Purple Hurricanes basketball team scored a big 79-49 triumph over the Stephens County Indians.

The Purple Hurricanes (4-7) will now prepare for their contest against North Gwinnett (Suwanee, GA). The Bulldogs go into the non-league contest with a 3-9 record. In their last contest, North Gwinnett smashed Commerce (Commerce, GA), 53-46, in a non-league contest.

In their next game, the Indians battle the Commerce Tigers (Commerce, GA) in a non-league contest, on Monday, December 30. Stephens County will attempt to better on its 1-9 season record. The Tigers go into the contest with a 8-6 record after their 53-46 non-league loss to North Gwinnett (Suwanee, GA).
