North Carolina High School Basketball - Rocky Mount can't get by West Johnston

The Rocky Mount Gryphons basketball squad (Rocky Mount, NC), was nudged 55-48 in Saturday's non-league battle with the visiting West Johnston Wildcats (Benson, NC)

With the victory, West Johnston advances its record to 3-7 on the year. The Wildcats travel to East Wake (Wendell, NC) to meet the Warriors in a 3A Quad County battle on Tuesday, January 7. The Warriors enter the battle with a record of 2-7.

The Gryphons now own a 5-4 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Nash Central for a 2A/3A Big East battle on Friday, January 3. Rocky Mount will meet a Bulldogs squad coming off a 75-63 non-league win over Wake Christian Academy (Raleigh, NC). The Bulldogs record now stands at 2-7.
