The Mt. Carmel Cubs basketball team scored 57 points and limited the visiting Ascension Catholic Bulldogs to 32 in the Cubs non-league triumph on Saturday.

The Cubs now have a 9-4 record. They play next when they host Carver Collegiate Academy for a non-league game on Friday, January 3. Mt. Carmel will confront a Rams team coming off a 65-31 non-league win over St. Mary's Academy (New Orleans, LA). The Rams record now stands at 4-2.

With the loss, Ascension Catholic falls to 6-3 on the campaign. The Bulldogs host Dunham (Baton Rouge, LA) to confront the Tigers in a non-league game on Thursday, January 2. The Tigers go into the game with a record of 6-4. Dunham won 56-53 in their recent non-league game against East Iberville (St. Gabriel, LA)
