The West Carter Comets basketball team scored 59 points and limited the visiting Augusta Panthers to 31 in the Comets non-league triumph on Saturday.

The Comets now possess a 3-6 record. They play next when they travel to East Carter for a District 62 game on Friday, January 3. West Carter will play a Raiders team coming off a 60-45 non-league loss to Russell (Russell, KY). The Raiders record now stands at 5-5.

With the loss, Augusta falls to 3-7 on the campaign. The Panthers travel to Bourbon County (Paris, KY) to play the Colonels in a non-league game on Friday, January 3. The Colonels go into the game with a record of 5-6. Bourbon County lost 53-35 in their recent non-league game against St. Henry (Erlanger, KY)
