The crowd at Saturday's non-league challenge between the Beaver Bobcats (Beaver, PA) and the visiting Boardman Spartans (Youngstown, OH), saw Beaver's basketball team nip Boardman by a tally of 44-41.

The Bobcats now possess a 7-2 record. They play next when they travel to Hopewell for a WPIAL 4A 2 bout on Friday, January 3. Beaver will play a Vikings team coming off a 67-25 non-league loss to Our Lady of the Sacred Heart (Coraopolis, PA). The Vikings record now stands at 1-7.

With the loss, Boardman falls to 4-6 on the campaign. The Spartans host Canfield (Canfield, OH) to play the Cardinals in a All-American bout on Saturday, January 4. The Cardinals go into the bout with a record of 9-0.
