The crowd at Saturday's non-league challenge between the Carlisle Chiefs (Axton, VA) and the host Gretna Hawks (Gretna, VA), observed Carlisle's basketball team overwhelm Gretna by a score of 72-42.

The Chiefs (7-3) will now prepare for their challenge against North Cross (Roanoke, VA). The Raiders come into the VISAA Blue Ridge challenge with a 1-8 record.

In their next game, the Hawks battle the Halifax County Comets (South Boston, VA) in a non-league challenge, on Friday, January 3. Gretna will attempt to improve on its 7-3 season record.
