In Saturday's non-league contest, the host Slocum Mustangs basketball team scored a good 44-28 triumph over the Cushing Bearkats.

The Mustangs (12-11) will now prepare for their contest against Coolidge (Coolidge, TX). The Yellowjackets go into the 1A Region III District 24 contest with a 1-10 record.

In their next game, the Bearkats battle the Trinity Tigers (Trinity, TX) in a non-league contest, on Tuesday, December 31. Cushing will attempt to better on its 10-10 season record. The Tigers go into the contest with a 17-7 record after their 43-23 non-league win over Hudson (Lufkin, TX).
