The crowd at Saturday's non-league challenge between the East Bakersfield Blades (Bakersfield, CA) and the visiting Pioneer Valley Panthers (Santa Maria, CA), observed East Bakersfield's basketball team knock off Pioneer Valley by a score of 39-26.

The Blades (7-5) will now prepare for their challenge against Tehachapi (Tehachapi, CA). The Warriors come into the South Yosemite - Mountain challenge with a 9-2 record. In their last challenge, Tehachapi prevailed over Western (Las Vegas, NV), 52-23, in a non-league challenge.

In their next game, the Panthers encounter the Nipomo Titans (Nipomo, CA) in a Ocean challenge, on Tuesday, January 7. Pioneer Valley will attempt to improve on its 3-7 season record.
