In Saturday's non-league contest, the host Gilmer Buckeyes basketball team scored a good 55-45 win over the Rivercrest Rebels.

The Buckeyes (2-15) will now prepare for their contest against Henderson (Henderson, TX). The Lions come into the 4A Region II District 16 contest with a 8-10 record. In their last contest, Henderson defeated Marlin (Marlin, TX), 50-36, in a non-league contest.
