West Virginia High School Basketball - Unioto toppled by Parkersburg

December 28, 2024: Parkersburg, WV 26101

Parkersburg Big Reds (Parkersburg, WV) supporters left the game satisfied Saturday as they witnessed their basketball squad notch a victory over the visiting Unioto Shermans (Chillicothe, OH), 74-66 in a non-league match.

With the victory, Parkersburg advances its record to 6-1 on the year. The Big Reds travel to St. Albans (St. Albans, WV) to face the Red Dragons in a Mountain State match on Thursday, January 2. The Red Dragons enter the match with a record of 4-0. St. Albans won 55-52 in their recent league match against Huntington (Huntington, WV)

The Shermans now own a 7-3 record. They put it on the line next when they host Harvest Prep for a non-league match on Thursday, January 2. Unioto will face a Warriors squad coming off a 47-37 non-league win over Bishop Watterson (Columbus, OH). The Warriors record now stands at 4-7.
