Centralia Orphans (Centralia, IL) backers were in high spirits Thursday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the visiting Carmel Corsairs (Mundelein, IL), 51-46 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Centralia upgrades its record to 10-1 on the season. The Orphans travel to Breese Central (Breese, IL) to play the Cougars in a non-league bout on Tuesday, January 3. The Cougars go into the bout with a record of 10-1. Breese Central lost 52-33 in their recent non-league bout against Briarcrest Christian (Eads, TN)

Next up, the Corsairs play the Belleville West Maroons (Belleville, IL) in a non-league bout, on Friday, December 30. Carmel will attempt to upgrade on its 5-10 season record. The Maroons go into the bout with a 4-5 record after their 81-52 league loss to East St. Louis (East St. Louis, IL).
