North Carolina High School Basketball - North Buncombe nudges Cherokee

December 29, 2022: Cherokee, NC 28719

In Thursday's non-league outing, the North Buncombe Black Hawks (Weaverville, NC) basketball squad edged the host Cherokee Braves (Cherokee, NC), by a margin of 77-73.

The Black Hawks (7-5) will now prepare for their outing against McDowell (Marion, NC). The Titans go into the 3A/4A Conference 53 outing with a 5-7 record. In their last outing, McDowell held off East Burke (Connelly Springs, NC), 99-3, in a non-league outing.

The Braves now own a 6-7 record. They play next when they host Swain County for a 1A Conference 43 outing on Tuesday, January 3. Cherokee will clash with a Maroon Devils squad coming off a 67-44 non-league win over Mitchell (Bakersville, NC). The Maroon Devils record now stands at 5-6.
