The Elgin Maroons (Elgin, IL) basketball nipped the visiting Kennedy Crusaders (Chicago, IL), 48-44 in Thursday's non-league test.

The Maroons (8-6) will now prepare for their test against Shepard (Palos Heights, IL). The Astros go into the non-league test with a 7-7 record. In their last test, Shepard got by Walther Christian Academy (Melrose Park, IL), 61-47, in a non-league test.
