John Paul II Guardians (New Braunfels, TX) backers were in high spirits Thursday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the host Episcopal Knights (Bellaire, TX), 68-55 in a non-league bout.

With the win, John Paul II upgrades its record to 7-14 on the season. The Guardians travel to Veritas Academy (Austin, TX) to clash with the in a TAPPS 4A District 3 bout on Friday, January 6. The go into the bout with a record of 13-4. Veritas Academy won 72-60 in their recent non-league bout against Austin Achieve (Austin, TX)

Next up, the Knights clash with the Salt and Light Homeschool Eagles (Conroe, TX) in a non-league bout, on Friday, January 6. Episcopal will attempt to upgrade on its 3-12 season record. The Eagles go into the bout with a 9-5 record after their 42-41 non-league win over Alpha Omega Academy (Huntsville, TX).
