In Thursday's non-league outing, the J.P. Stevens Hawks (Edison, NJ) basketball squad beat the visiting Franklin Warriors (Somerset, NJ), by a count of 58-48.
The Hawks (1-4) will now prepare for their outing against Metuchen (Metuchen, NJ). The Bulldogs go into the non-league outing with a 2-3 record.
The Warriors now hold a 2-4 record. They play next when they travel to Bridgewater-Raritan for a Skyland - Delaware outing on Tuesday, January 3. Franklin will clash with a Panthers squad coming off a 76-53 non-league loss to Immaculata (Somerville, NJ). The Panthers record now stands at 1-4.
