Texas High School Basketball - Friona ripped by Hale Center

The Hale Center Owls basketball team scored 77 points and held the visiting Friona Chieftans to 51 in the Owls non-league triumph on Thursday.

The Owls now sport a 6-9 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Smyer for a 2A Region I District 4 contest on Tuesday, January 3. Hale Center will battle a Bobcats team coming off a 71-23 non-league loss to Lorenzo (Lorenzo, TX). The Bobcats record now stands at 3-12.

The Chieftans (4-14) will now prepare for their contest against Brownfield (Brownfield, TX). The Cubs enter the 3A Region I District 3 contest with a 7-9 record. In their last contest, Brownfield was routed by Childress (Childress, TX), 69-63, in a non-league contest.
