The Hopewell Vikings basketball team (Aliquippa, PA), was overwhelmed 71-40 in Thursday's non-league battle with the host Shenango Wildcats (New Castle, PA)

The Wildcats now possess a 3-2 record. They put it on the line next when they host Laurel for a WPIAL 2A 1 battle on Tuesday, January 3. Shenango will battle a Spartan team coming off a 63-54 non-league loss to Mohawk Area (Bessemer, PA). The Spartan record now stands at 2-4.

The Vikings (4-8) will now prepare for their battle against Conwell-Egan Catholic (Fairless Hills, PA). The Eagles come into the non-league battle with a 3-1 record.
