The Maine South Hawks (Park Ridge, IL) basketball nipped the host Lincoln-Way Central Knights (New Lenox, IL), 30-27 in Thursday's non-league test.

The Hawks (6-8) will now prepare for their test against Evanston (Evanston, IL). The Wildkits go into the Central Suburban - South test with a 11-2 record.

The Knights now own a 4-9 record. They play next when they travel to Agricultural Science for a non-league test on Tuesday, January 3. Lincoln-Way Central will encounter a Cyclones squad coming off a 71-42 non-league win over Francis W. Parker (Chicago, IL). The Cyclones record now stands at 11-3.
