The Science Leadership Academy at Beeber Rockets (Philadelphia, PA) basketball nipped the host Penncrest Lions (Media, PA), 53-52 in Thursday's non-league test.

The Rockets (8-2) will now prepare for their test against Strawberry Mansion (Philadelphia, PA). The Knights go into the Philadelphia Public - National test with a 6-5 record.

The Lions now own a 3-6 record. They play next when they host Garnet Valley for a Central test on Thursday, January 5. Penncrest will encounter a Jaguars squad coming off a 65-63 non-league win over Coatesville (Coatesville, PA). The Jaguars record now stands at 8-2.
