Ridge Point Panthers (Missouri City, TX) backers were pleased Thursday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the host Westfield Mustangs (Houston, TX), 58-53 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Ridge Point upgrades its record to 12-7 on the campaign. The Panthers host Bryan (Bryan, TX) to play the Vikings in a non-league bout on Thursday, December 29. The Vikings come into the bout with a record of 11-7. Bryan lost 54-51 in their recent non-league bout against Cypress Springs (Cypress, TX)

Next up, the Mustangs play the Eisenhower Eagles (Houston, TX) in a 6A Region II District 14 bout, on Tuesday, January 3. Westfield will attempt to upgrade on its 7-11 season record. The Eagles come into the bout with a 5-12 record after their 68-39 non-league loss to Port Arthur Memorial (Port Arthur, TX).
