The Hico Tigers basketball team (Hico, TX), was overwhelmed 47-12 in Thursday's non-league battle with the host Abernathy Antelopes (Abernathy, TX)

The Antelopes now possess a 13-2 record. They put it on the line next when they host Slaton for a 3A Region I District 2 battle on Friday, January 6. Abernathy will confront a Tigers team coming off a 51-39 non-league loss to Quanah (Quanah, TX). The Tigers record now stands at 6-8.

The Tigers (5-12) will now prepare for their battle against De Leon (De Leon, TX). The Bearcats come into the 2A Region II District 11 battle with a 5-6 record. In their last battle, De Leon was overwhelmed by Lipan (Lipan, TX), 78-35, in a league battle.
