Fans at Thursday's non-league challenge between the Godwin Eagles (Richmond, VA) and the host Albemarle Patriots (Charlottesville, VA), saw Godwin's basketball squad knock off Albemarle by a count of 39-27.

With the victory, Godwin upgrades its record to 8-3 on the campaign. The Eagles host Deep Run (Glen Allen, VA) to play the Wildcats in a Colonial challenge on Friday, January 6. The Wildcats come into the challenge with a record of 1-5.

Next up, the Patriots play the Goochland Bulldogs (Goochland, VA) in a Jefferson challenge, on Tuesday, January 3. Albemarle will attempt to upgrade on its 1-6 season record. The Bulldogs come into the challenge with a 0-5 record after their 75-17 league loss to Louisa County (Mineral, VA).
