Aquinas Institute Little Irish (Rochester, NY) backers were in high spirits Thursday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the host Palmyra-Macedon Red Raiders (Palmyra, NY), 59-50 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Aquinas Institute upgrades its record to 5-2 on the season. The Little Irish host Penn Yan Academy (Penn Yan, NY) to clash with the Mustangs in a non-league bout on Tuesday, January 3. The Mustangs go into the bout with a record of 1-2. Penn Yan Academy lost 65-25 in their recent league bout against Midlakes (Clifton Springs, NY)

Next up, the Red Raiders clash with the Geneva Panthers (Geneva, NY) in a Section 5 Finger Lakes - East bout, on Friday, January 6. Palmyra-Macedon will attempt to upgrade on its 3-2 season record. The Panthers go into the bout with a 0-5 record after their 74-17 league loss to Mynderse Academy (Seneca Falls, NY).
