Bowie Bulldogs (Austin, TX) backers were in high spirits Thursday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the host Magnolia West Mustangs (Magnolia, TX), 39-37 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Bowie upgrades its record to 15-10 on the season. The Bulldogs travel to Akins (Austin, TX) to clash with the Eagles in a 6A Region IV District 26 bout on Friday, December 30. The Eagles go into the bout with a record of 1-15. Akins lost 79-32 in their recent league bout against Austin (Austin, TX)

Next up, the Mustangs clash with the Montgomery Bears (Montgomery, TX) in a 5A Region III District 21 bout, on Tuesday, January 3. Magnolia West will attempt to upgrade on its 9-10 season record. The Bears go into the bout with a 16-6 record after their 56-21 non-league win over MacArthur (Houston, TX).
