North Carolina High School Basketball - North Buncombe overwhelmed by Cherokee

The North Buncombe Black Hawks basketball team (Weaverville, NC), was overwhelmed 71-39 in Thursday's non-league battle with the host Cherokee Braves (Cherokee, NC)

The Braves now possess a 10-3 record. They put it on the line next when they host Swain County for a 1A Conference 43 battle on Tuesday, January 3. Cherokee will confront a Maroon Devils team coming off a 64-60 non-league loss to Hiwassee Dam (Murphy, NC). The Maroon Devils record now stands at 6-5.

The Black Hawks (5-6) will now prepare for their battle against McDowell (Marion, NC). The Titans come into the 3A/4A Conference 53 battle with a 9-3 record. In their last battle, McDowell was overwhelmed by East Burke (Connelly Springs, NC), 53-52, in a non-league battle.
