North Carolina High School Basketball - Hopewell trounced by East Rutherford

The East Rutherford Cavaliers routed the visiting Hopewell Titans basketball team by a final score of 74-39 in Thursday's non-league game.

In their next game, the Cavaliers face the Patton Panthers (Morganton, NC) in a 2A Conference 41 game, on Tuesday, January 3. East Rutherford will attempt to move on its 10-0 season record. The Panthers enter the game with a 0-12 record after their 77-22 non-league loss to Avery County (Newland, NC).

With the defeat, Hopewell moves to 2-7 on the year. The Titans travel to South Mecklenburg (Charlotte, NC) to face the Sabres in a non-league game on Friday, December 30. The Sabres enter the game with a record of 9-4. South Mecklenburg lost 53-50 in their recent non-league game against Independence (Charlotte, NC)
