Jasper Bulldogs (Jasper, TX) backers were in high spirits Thursday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the host Liberty Panthers (Liberty, TX), 44-33 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Jasper upgrades its record to 11-5 on the season. The Bulldogs travel to West Orange-Stark (Orange, TX) to clash with the Mustangs in a 4A Region III District 19 bout on Friday, January 6. The Mustangs go into the bout with a record of 1-6.

Next up, the Panthers clash with the Livingston Lions (Livingston, TX) in a 4A Region III District 20 bout, on Friday, January 6. Liberty will attempt to upgrade on its 7-13 season record. The Lions go into the bout with a 0-9 record after their 59-20 non-league loss to Pineywoods Community Academy (Lufkin, TX).
