Lathrop Spartans (Lathrop, CA) backers were pleased Thursday as they saw their basketball squad bounce the visiting University Trojans (Irvine, CA), 51-24 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Lathrop upgrades its record to 8-5 on the campaign. The Spartans travel to Ceres (Ceres, CA) to play the Bulldogs in a Western Athletic Conference bout on Tuesday, January 3. The Bulldogs come into the bout with a record of 4-9. Ceres lost 37-34 in their recent non-league bout against Central Catholic (Modesto, CA)

Next up, the Trojans play the Francis Parker Lancers (San Diego, CA) in a non-league bout, on Friday, December 30. University will attempt to upgrade on its 3-12 season record. The Lancers come into the bout with a 6-4 record after their 61-37 non-league loss to California (San Ramon, CA).
