Fans at Thursday's non-league challenge between the Moss Point Tigers (Moss Point, MS) and the host Picayune Maroon Tide (Picayune, MS), saw Moss Point's basketball squad knock off Picayune by a tally of 39-30.

With the victory, Moss Point improves its record to 3-14 on the campaign. The Tigers travel to Stone (Wiggins, MS) to play the Tomcats in a 4A Region 8 challenge on Tuesday, January 3. The Tomcats come into the challenge with a record of 1-6. Stone lost 38-21 in their recent league challenge against Bay (Bay St. Louis, MS)

Next up, the Maroon Tide play the Pearl River Central Blue Devils (Carriere, MS) in a 5A Region 7 challenge, on Friday, January 6. Picayune will attempt to improve on its 3-16 season record.
