Plainview Pirates (Plainview, NE) backers were in high spirits Thursday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the host Winnebago Indians (Winnebago, NE), 52-39 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Plainview upgrades its record to 6-3 on the season. The Pirates travel to Cedar Catholic (Hartington, NE) to clash with the Trojans in a non-league bout on Friday, December 30. The Trojans go into the bout with a record of 6-2. Cedar Catholic lost 45-30 in their recent non-league bout against Pender (Pender, NE)

Next up, the Indians clash with the O'Neill Eagles (O'Neill, NE) in a non-league bout, on Tuesday, January 3. Winnebago will attempt to upgrade on its 1-7 season record. The Eagles go into the bout with a 1-6 record after their 62-55 non-league win over St. Paul (St. Paul, NE).
