Somerset Spartans (Somerset, WI) backers were pleased Thursday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the visiting Ripon Tigers (Ripon, WI), 49-44 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Somerset upgrades its record to 9-2 on the campaign. The Spartans host Hudson (Hudson, WI) to play the Raiders in a non-league bout on Tuesday, January 3. The Raiders come into the bout with a record of 8-2. Hudson lost 59-57 in their recent non-league bout against Wausau West (Wausau, WI)

Next up, the Tigers play the Berlin Indians (Berlin, WI) in a East Central bout, on Thursday, January 5. Ripon will attempt to upgrade on its 4-4 season record. The Indians come into the bout with a 5-4 record after their 60-52 non-league win over Wautoma (Wautoma, WI).
