In Friday's non-league outing, the Alleghany Cougars (Covington, VA) basketball squad felled the host Auburn Eagles (Riner, VA), by a margin of 67-56.

The Cougars (8-2) will now prepare for their outing against Carroll County (Hillsville, VA). The Cavaliers go into the Three Rivers outing with a 8-0 record. In their last outing, Carroll County thwarted Narrows (Narrows, VA), 71-52, in a non-league outing.
