Hartfield Academy Hawks (Flowood, MS) backers were pleased Friday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the visiting Center Hill Mustangs (Olive Branch, MS), 56-55 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Hartfield Academy upgrades its record to 14-3 on the campaign. The Hawks travel to Briarcrest Christian (Eads, TN) to confront the Saints in a non-league battle on Friday, January 5. The Saints come into the battle with a record of 10-3. Briarcrest Christian won 70-34 in their recent non-league battle against Houston (Germantown, TN)

The Mustangs (6-9) will now prepare for their battle against Olive Branch (Olive Branch, MS). The Conquistadors come into the 6A Region 1 battle with a 14-3 record. In their last battle, Olive Branch was nudged by Raymond (Raymond, MS), 62-45, in a non-league battle.
