In Friday's non-league outing, the Wayne County Cardinals (Monticello, KY) basketball squad overwhelmed the visiting Clay County Bulldogs (Celina, TN), by a margin of 70-49.
The Cardinals (10-2) will now prepare for their outing against Somerset Christian (Somerset, KY). The Cougars go into the District 48 outing with a 5-6 record. In their last outing, Somerset Christian was trounced by Somerset (Somerset, KY), 86-34, in a non-league outing.
The Bulldogs now own a 5-4 record. They play next when they host Red Boiling Springs for a 1A District 7 outing on Tuesday, January 2. Clay County will clash with a Bulldogs squad coming off a 62-54 non-league loss to Rhea County (Evensville, TN). The Bulldogs record now stands at 3-6.
