Slocum Mustangs (Elkhart, TX) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the host Eustace Bulldogs (Eustace, TX), 52-51 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Slocum upgrades its record to 5-12 on the season. The Mustangs travel to Lovelady (Lovelady, TX) to play the Lions in a non-league bout on Friday, December 29. The Lions go into the bout with a record of 2-4. Lovelady lost 50-23 in their recent non-league bout against Frankston (Frankston, TX)

Next up, the Bulldogs play the Rice Bulldogs (Rice, TX) in a 3A Region III District 18 bout, on Tuesday, January 2. Eustace will attempt to upgrade on its 2-16 season record. The Bulldogs go into the bout with a 5-9 record after their 59-42 non-league loss to Teague (Teague, TX).
