The Holmes County Central Jaguars basketball team (Lexington, MS), was nudged 53-52 in Friday's non-league battle with the host Forest Bearcats (Forest, MS)
The Bearcats now possess a 7-8 record. They put it on the line next when they host Northeast Jones for a 4A Region 5 battle on Tuesday, January 9.
The Jaguars (2-12) will now prepare for their battle against Canton (Canton, MS). The Tigers come into the 5A Region 2 battle with a 13-2 record. In their last battle, Canton was nudged by Pascagoula (Pascagoula, MS), 67-65, in a non-league battle.
