In Friday's non-league outing, the Harlan County Black Bears (Harlan, KY) basketball squad beat the visiting George Wythe Maroons (Wytheville, VA), by a count of 80-72.
The Black Bears (13-2) will now prepare for their outing against South Shore (Brooklyn, NY). The Vikings go into the non-league outing with a 7-4 record. In their last outing, South Shore defeated Imhotep Charter (Philadelphia, PA), 39-36, in a non-league outing.
The Maroons now hold a 5-2 record. They play next when they host Fort Chiswell for a Mountain Empire outing on Wednesday, January 3. George Wythe will clash with a Pioneers squad coming off a 55-31 league win over Grayson County (Independence, VA). The Pioneers record now stands at 5-3.
