In Friday's non-league outing, the Lafayette Fighting Irish (St. Joseph, MO) basketball squad overwhelmed the visiting Hillcrest Hornets (Springfield, MO), by a margin of 67-40.

The Fighting Irish (2-5) will now prepare for their outing against Maryville (Maryville, MO). The Spoofhounds go into the Midland Empire outing with a 7-2 record. In their last outing, Maryville was trounced by Auburn (Auburn, NE), 71-63, in a non-league outing.

The Hornets now own a 5-5 record. They play next when they host Parkview for a Ozarks outing on Tuesday, January 2. Hillcrest will clash with a Vikings squad coming off a 51-43 non-league win over Chillicothe (Chillicothe, MO). The Vikings record now stands at 4-2.
