Sevier County Smoky Bears (Sevierville, TN) backers were pleased Friday as they saw their basketball squad knock off the visiting Jasper Vikings (Jasper, AL), 63-50 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Sevier County upgrades its record to 9-5 on the campaign. The Smoky Bears travel to Jefferson County (Dandridge, TN) to play the Patriots in a 4A District 2 bout on Friday, January 5. The Patriots come into the bout with a record of 4-7. Jefferson County lost 56-50 in their recent non-league bout against Carroll (Dayton, OH)

Next up, the Vikings play the Hamilton Aggies (Hamilton, AL) in a non-league bout, on Tuesday, January 2. Jasper will attempt to upgrade on its 13-3 season record. The Aggies come into the bout with a 9-4 record after their 74-33 non-league loss to Lauderdale County (Rogersville, AL).
