The Leake County Gators basketball team (Walnut Grove, MS), was nudged 66-64 in Friday's non-league battle with the visiting North Pike Jaguars (Summit, MS)
The Jaguars now possess a 6-12 record. They put it on the line next when they host South Jones for a 5A Region 3 battle on Friday, January 5. North Pike will confront a Braves team coming off a 56-54 non-league win over Laurel (Laurel, MS). The Braves record now stands at 8-5.
The Gators (3-12) will now prepare for their battle against West Lauderdale (Collinsville, MS). The Knights come into the non-league battle with a 14-2 record. In their last battle, West Lauderdale edged Pelahatchie (Pelahatchie, MS), 67-60, in a non-league battle.
