Washington County Golden Hawks (Sandersville, GA) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the host Lincoln County Red Devils (Lincolnton, GA), 72-54 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Washington County upgrades its record to 6-3 on the season. The Golden Hawks travel to Butler (Augusta, GA) to clash with the Bulldogs in a AA Region 4 bout on Tuesday, January 2. The Bulldogs go into the bout with a record of 9-2. Butler won 62-49 in their recent non-league bout against Hapeville Charter (Atlanta, GA)

Next up, the Red Devils clash with the Taliaferro County JAGUARS (Crawfordville, GA) in a A D2 Region 8 bout, on Tuesday, January 2. Lincoln County will attempt to upgrade on its 6-4 season record. The JAGUARS go into the bout with a 2-10 record after their 45-35 league loss to Lake Oconee Academy (Greensboro, GA).
