Mitchell Kernels (Mitchell, SD) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad bounce the visiting Thunder Basin Bolts (Gillette, WY), 54-26 in a non-league bout.
With the win, Mitchell upgrades its record to 5-0 on the season. The Kernels host DeLaSalle (Minneapolis, MN) to play the Islanders in a non-league challenge on Saturday, December 30. The Islanders come into the challenge with a record of 2-3. DeLaSalle lost 67-63 in their recent non-league challenge against Sioux Falls Christian (Sioux Falls, SD)
Next up, the Bolts play the Brandon Valley Lynx (Brandon, SD) in a non-league challenge, on Saturday, December 30. Thunder Basin will attempt to improve on its 3-6 season record. The Lynx come into the challenge with a 1-2 record after their 45-40 league win over Roosevelt (Sioux Falls, SD).
